In thirty nine days of writing, I have finally completed my scifi time travel novel. There are changes to be made, for sure, and a great deal of editing, but the "bones" of the story are now in my computer. Like a sculptor, the basic form of the statue has been carved out. Now it is time to start chiseling out the details that give the artwork its for and beauty.
The story has a working title of "Just In Time", but after seeing how many books there are on Amazon with that title, it will have to change to distinguish it from all of them. In it, a brilliant scientist completes his greatest invention, a time machine. While considering the many applications of the device, he is caught in a freak accident that transports him thirty years back in time, when he was only thirteen years old. He is about to meet the only girl he ever loved-- again-- only this time, he decides that he is not going to let her get away again.
A sweet story about young love and second chances, the couple lives through some of the most heart wrenching times for our country with the bombing of the Murrah Building in Oklahoma City, and the terrorist attacks of 9/11/2001. Will their love survive this time, or will they drift apart as they did the first time around?
A character driven tale of one man's desire to set things right in his life, I hope to make this one of the most interesting time travel stories you will ever read. Even if you are not a fan of science fiction, this is more about relationships and how we have an effect on every person that we come in contact with. It's up to us whether that influence is positive or negative.
Editing is a very time consuming task, but I hope to have this work completed and ready for publication by the first of the year.
These are poems, stories, and personal commentaries about whatever I am going through in my life at the time. Please feel free to comment on anything that you read, as I love to hear from my readers. All written by Writer M Ray Holloway Jr.
